HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Members of the Southern Miss Football team paid a visit to Hattiesburg's Christian Services to lend a hand Wednesday.
About 40 players and coaches from the team came to help with boxes of food for those in need.
Some of the players gave a step performance for those in attendance.
"Sometimes we kind of take for granted where we are at so to be able to get out and help the community and realize how blessed we are and how we can shine the light of Jesus Christ on others is tremendous," said Nick Mullins, quarterback for Southern Miss. "It's an awesome opportunity and we are very thankful for it."
"This is a great opportunity for them to come and serve," said Zach Woodfin, Southern Miss strength and conditioning coach. "Give back and it would really just open their eyes to how blessed they are. It's always great to just give back to someone who may be a little bit less fortunate than us."
The team will play its last regular season game Saturday afternoon against Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana.
