TRAFFIC ALERT: Incident stalls traffic in Laurel on I-59 at exit 95C

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

An incident in Laurel on I-59 at Leontyne Price Blvd EX 95C has traffic stalled. 

According to Laurel Police Chief Tyrone Stewart, a motorist was trying to move heavy machinery, causing delays. 

The left northbound lane is blocked. 

MDOT urges motorists to use caution in this area until the scene is cleared.

    A hearing has been set for a former Forrest County school teacher who was at the center of an investigation involving a missing Hattiesburg teen. The motion hearing for Nicole Jackson is set for July 2 in Circuit Court after turning herself in on June 14.  Jackson is behind bars at the Forrest County Jail charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and contempt of court.     The Forrest County Board of Supervisors recently approved a paving project that reaches inside the city limits of Hattiesburg. The projects include a stretch of Jackson Road that runs from Rawls Springs Loop Road to near the Longleaf Trace Jackson Station and another at Sullivan Kilrain Road North of Highway 11, which extends all the way to the railroad tracks at the Lamar County line. “50 percent of the road and bridge taxes that are collected gets split betwee...
