Two charged in Hub City armed robbery

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Two people are behind bars in connection to an early morning armed robbery in the Hub City.

Jeffrey Volez, 29 of Mount Olive, and Christie Massie, 28 of Collins, were arrested early Wednesday morning at a hotel room in Hattiesburg.

“The victim advised he was sitting in a breezeway of the hotel when a white male subject approached him and started an altercation with him,” Hattiesburg Police Lt. Jon Traxler said.

According to Traxler, the suspect struck the victim in the face and then pulled a knife out threatening him.

“The victim advised a white female then approached him and took his back pack and contents,” Traxler said.

The contents, backpack and weapon used was recovered by police.

 The two were booked into the Forrest County Jail and each are charged with one count of armed robbery.
