HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

A Hattiesburg man is behind bars facing charges in connection to a Hub City shooting.

Marcus Sartin, 22, was arrested Thursday night by Hattiesburg Police following an investigation into the Wednesday shooting at Boardwalk Apartments.

Police say the shooting stemmed from an altercation between two people at the complex.

“There was an altercation between the suspect and victim at which time the suspect left and came back this time with a handgun,” said Hattiesburg Police Lt. Jon Traxler.

According to Traxler, several shots were fired and the victim was struck in the hand and leg.

The injuries to the victim did not appear to be life threatening according to police, and the investigation is ongoing.

Sartin was booked into the Forrest County Jail and charged with aggravated assault.
