HATTIESBURG, MS - Drilling field goals in practice has become second nature to Presbyterian Christian's kicker, Luke Logan. However, the distance of the field goals he consistently makes is what has universities from across the nation calling.
"He's one of the best kickers around. Southern Miss offered him last week and a couple of other schools are fixing to offer him too," PCS Head Coach Joey Hawkins said.
Last week Logan hit a 54-yard field goal, but he has made a 64-yard field goal in practice. Earlier this year he made a 56 yard field goal against Jackson Prep.
"We know his range, he has kicked some 60-yarders in practice," Hawkins said.
Logan feels the trick is just trusting in himself.
"You just have to let your muscle memory take over, as soon as the ball leaves my foot I can tell if it will be good or not, so that 54-yarder felt good, if not better than the 56 I hit earlier this season," Logan said.
With offers like Southern Miss and Army coming in, Logan plans to make some visits and then make his decision as to where he will kick in college.
