HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hundreds of residents gathered along Old Highway 11 in Hattiesburg to honor fallen officer Benjamin Deen's daughter, Melah Deen.

Melah died over the weekend from complications from an illness. Deen was gunned down during a traffic stop on May 9.

People watched Melah's funeral procession, donned in blue and purple.

The procession ended at the cemetery next to Military Road Baptist Church in Sumrall. Melah will be buried alongside her father.

The night before the funeral Lamar County officers stood watch over Melah's casket, as they did the night before her father's funeral.
