JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Jones County Junior College is hosting the SkillsUSA South Fall Leadership Conference for high school and community college students.
The annual meeting brings about 300 students and advisers from all over Mississippi to one location for leadership training. SkillsUSA is a career and technical student organization serving more than 300,000 high school and college students and professional members enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled and service occupations, including health occupations.
Keynote speaker was Samuel Jones, JCJC vice president of student affairs, and he spoke about leadership skills about leadership skills in the work force.
Twelve business and industry representatives were also at JCJC to meet and teach high school students on various workplace topics including leadership, social media tips and resume writing. Students met in the Fine Arts Auditorium until they divided up into small groups for discussion and networking.
