Petal dentist enjoying title of Ms. Senior America

A Petal dentist is enjoying her new role as Ms. Senior America 2015. Barbara Mauldin won the title in a national pageant in Atlantic City in late October. PETAL, MS (WDAM) -

A Petal dentist is enjoying her new role as Ms. Senior America 2015. Barbara Mauldin won the title in a national pageant in Atlantic City in late October.

She competed against 35 other contestants.

During the next year, Mauldin will travel the country attending other pageants and promoting senior Americans.

She also hopes to speak about people living with disabilities and the caregivers who help them.

Mauldin is the second contestant from the Hattiesburg area to win the Ms. Senior America Pageant.

Suzanne Shelley of Oak Grove won the title in 2006.

The pageant, which began in 1972, was incorporated in 1981.
