Former star athlete, Bo Jackson, has committed to play in the Heritage Bag Pro-Am at the Sanderson Farms Championship. The Heritage Bag Pro-Am will take place Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, beginning at 6:30 a.m.
Bo Jackson, a former baseball and football player, is the only athlete to be named an All-Star in two major sports. He had a successful college career in both sports at Auburn University and went on to play Major Baseball League and in the National Football League.
“We are honored to have such a historic name in sports participate in the Heritage Bag Pro-Am,” said Steve Jent, Executive Director of the Sanderson Farms Championship. “We can’t wait to see if Bo is as good on the golf course as he is on the baseball and football fields.”
“Philanthropy is very near and dear to Bo Jackson’s heart, as it is for Sanderson Farms,” said Joe F. Sanderson, Jr., CEO and Chairman of the Board of Sanderson Farms. “We are grateful he has dedicated his time to help the children at Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children, as well as the other charities supported by the Sanderson Farms Championship.”
The 48th Sanderson Farms Championship is set for November 2 – 8, 2015, at The Country Club of Jackson in Jackson, Miss.
