HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Hattiesburg city officials are asking the public to help complete a long-range transportation plan for the area.
On Thursday Nov. 5, the city and the Mississippi Department of Transportation will host a public meeting to discuss a plan, being developed by the Metropolitan Planning Organization.
That group includes the cities of Hattiesburg and Petal, along with Forrest and Lamar County.
The plan will include ways to improve the use of roads, sidewalks and bridges.
The meeting will take place from 4-6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Hattiesburg Train Depot.
City leaders said the the plan is about three-quarters complete. When it is fully developed, it will be submitted to the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
