Four vehicle accident in Hattiesburg stalls traffic

A multi-vehicle accident is causing traffic delays in Hattiesburg. A multi-vehicle accident is causing traffic delays in Hattiesburg.
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Around 10 a.m. Monday morning a multi-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 49 in the southbound lane at the intersection of Rawls Springs Loop Road. 

One person was transported to a local hospital. 

A Chevy Silverado collided with a Toyota pick-up truck and then struck an Infiniti SUV. 

Traffic is moving slow in both direction of Hwy 49 about a half mile north of I-59. 

Hattiesburg police and The Hattiesburg Fire Department are on the scene. 

Officials urge motorists to consider using alternate routes until the scene is clear.

Traffic should be flowing normally by noon today, according to authorities on scene.
