Annual Halloween tour of historic Deason home to take place Saturday

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) - History buffs and ghost hunters will gather in Ellisville Saturday night to help raise funds to preserve the oldest, and some say, most haunted home in Mississippi.

The Tallahala Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host an annual Halloween tour of the Amos Deason home on Anderson Street next to South Jones High School.

For an admission fee of $5 (pre-schoolers are admitted free), visitors will be able to tour the home and learn more about the historical events and legendary paranormal encounters that have taken place at the home.

Local Civil War re-enactors will also be encamped on the grounds during the event.

Funds raised will be used for upkeep and renovation of the home.

Hours for the tour are 6-11 p.m.
