JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - This week is Red Ribbon Week, and the Jones County Sheriff's Department recognizes this week by using area outreach ministries to go to schools around the county.
Officers give first-hand testimony about the harmful effects of illegal drug use among teens.
Wednesday the program was presented at North East Jones and South Jones to seventh-ninth graders.
This year's theme for Red Ribbon week is "Respect yourself and be drug free."
The program was brought to the community by the sheriff's office for the last five years.
