A pedestrian that was hit by a vehicle in the Hub City resulted in a Hattiesburg man behind bars.
Zach Simmons, 28, was arrested Sunday night after police said he was involved in an accident.
He was charged with DUI negligence of a driver resulting in death or disfigurement after he allegedly struck a man at the West 7th Street at Providence Street intersection.
According to the Hattiesburg Police Department 24-hour report, Simmons fled on foot after the crash and was located in the area where he was taken into custody.
The male victim that was struck was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Simmons was charged with 2nd offense DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and the 24 hour reports lists other DUI related charges, but they were not specified.
