Elsewhere, students are decorating stationary panels which are placed across the front of campus.

And events will culminate this Saturday with a Homecoming parade and the football game between Southern Miss and the University of Texas-San Antonio.

"(The promotions are) not just to attract new fans, we're also doing things for our Eagle Club members, our season ticket holders, our students," said Brent Jones, senior associate athletics director for external affairs at Southern Miss. "We just released a ton of new student promotions (and) faculty and staff. We really want to embrace the entire Hattiesburg community."

"There's a lot of involvement together to make Southern Miss more exciting, not only for us, but alumni that come back," said Tucker Clay, a freshman who was decorating one of the panels Wednesday.

"It's a great time for all the student body to come together, faculty, alumni to come together and really just show our Southern Miss pride," said Hollis Chapman, a sophomore who was also decorating a panel.

Southern Miss will play the University of Texas-San Antonio at 6 p.m. Saturday at "The Rock."
