HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

It is that time of year when a $100 investment could land you $20,000 as a part of the ARC 11th annual Golf Ball Drop.

The ARC of Southeast Mississippi is currently selling golf balls for the annual fundraiser that will take place on Nov. 2.

"It is tremendous for us, honestly to be able to fund all of our programming needs for our kids," said ARC Assistant Director Christie Moss "We are able to give them respite care, and for the parents we are able to give them community outings as well. We have an adult program now that we are running, five days a week all day, so they are able to have many program needs that they need through the program and the fundraiser helps that.”

The golf balls will be dropped from a helicopter on a designated hole at the Canebrake Golf Club, and the closest to the pin, or the first one in, wins the $20,000.

“One of the major reasons why we do this is we want to make sure that all our individuals with disabilities have all of the opportunities that everyone else has,” Moss said. "Now only a 1,000 balls will be sold, so get them while they are available."
