Save 10 launches nationwide ‘Save 10’ video contest with $10k grand prize

WASHINGTON, DC - This is a news release from The Financial Services Roundtable

The Save 10 Initiative, a project of the Financial Services Roundtable (FSR), launched a nationwide 'Save 10' video contest today with the goal of highlighting the most innovative and creative reasons "Who, When, Why or How" everyone should save at least 10 percent of their income for retirement.

The "Save 10 Stories" contest will educate Americans on the importance of saving 10 percent of their income for retirement and urge more employers to offer their employees opportunities to save 10 percent of their income through workplace retirement plans. The contest includes a grand prize of $10,000 and nine first place prizes worth $1,000 each.  Contest winners will each pledge to save 10 percent of their winnings to retirement savings.

"The importance of saving for your financial future at any age is critical," said FSR President & CEO Tim Pawlenty. "By engaging more people in the conversation about saving, we hope more employers will take the easy steps proven to significantly increase retirement savings, such as auto-enrollment. This will fundamentally change how more people can accomplish the goal of saving at least 10 percent of their income."
