MISSISSIPPI (WDAM) - Obesity rates in the United States have increased, according to a recent study by the State of Obesity.
The good news is that Mississippi's 2014 raking is down, but the unfortunate news is the percent of obese residents has increased by over 2 percent.
Right now the Magnolia State is rated the third highest in obesity.
The study reported all states have at least a 20 percent obesity rate.
Arkansas tops off the chart at almost 36 percent.
Nationwide the CDC said a third of all adults and 17 percent of children are obese.
