UPDATE: Autopsy report reveals cause of death for Lauderdale County woman

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI - A preliminary autopsy report has revealed the cause of death for Sara Beard Mullett.

The body of the 25-year-old was found near a pond in Collinsville last week. Mullett had disappeared the previous weekend.

WTOK reported that Mullet was last seen with her boyfriend leaving the Golden Moon Casino in Philadelphia.

Mullett died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

Lauderdale County Coroner Clayton Cobler says authorities were not able to immediately determine Mullett's cause of death when she was found because of the state of her body.

"I put time of death approximately two o'clock in the morning on Saturday. Shortly after that, the body was placed in the water," Cobler said. "Don't know if she was killed there, killed somewhere else and brought there, or what, but she had been in the water for a good while."

Even though Mullett's family had identified her, that was made positive by obtaining her dental records from Bogalusa, Louisiana.

Kenneth Brian Weaver, Mullett's boyfriend, is charged with murder in her death. He's still in the Lauderdale County Jail on $350,000 bond.

According to Lauderdale Co. Sheriff Billy Sollie, this is not the first time Weaver has had a run in with the law. WTOK reported that Weaver had several charges dating back to 2004, most for DUIS and one charge for domestic violence.

Weaver could be facing more charges, according to WTOK.

According to Mullet's Facebook page, she was a graduate of North East Jones High School.

A memorial service will take place at Highland Methodist Church in Bogalusa, Louisiana, at 11 a.m. Saturday.

A visitation will be held beforehand at 9 a.m.
