Hattiesburg, MDA to host neighborhood resiliency meeting Sept. 28

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

This is a public announcement from the city of Hattiesburg.

Mississippi is one of 40 applicants nationwide competing for a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Disaster Recovery Grant that aims to fund unmet recovery needs resulting from presidentially-declared disasters in 2013. The grant will also help build resilience against future disasters.

The Hattiesburg-area tornado is a qualified disaster under this competition.

The City of Hattiesburg and Mississippi Development Authority will hold a meeting on Monday, Sept. 28 within the Grand Hall of the Train Depot from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. to gain feedback from residents on remaining tornado recovery needs and methods needed for long-term community resilience.

For more information, contact the City of Hattiesburg Federal and State Programs Department at 601.554.1006.
