Free Rabies Vaccinations for pets in Hattiesburg and Forrest County

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

This is a news release from Southern Pines Spay & Neuter Clinic

Southern Pines Spay & Neuter Clinic will hold a free rabies vaccination event for pets of the City of Hattiesburg and Forrest County on Saturday, September 26th. This will be the sixth annual free rabies event hosted by the Spay & Neuter Clinic since opening.

To prevent incidences of rabies in the state, Mississippi law and local ordinances require current rabies vaccinations for cats and dogs who are at least three months of age.  While Rabies vaccinations are required by law, some pet owners are unable to keep their pets current with Rabies vaccinations because of financial hardships. This is a great opportunity for pets in Hattiesburg and Forrest County to receive rabies vaccinations at no cost to their owners.

For the safety of both pets and people, all dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in pet carriers.  In order to receive a Rabies vaccination pets must be at least 3 months old and be in good health.

The event will be held at the Spay & Neuter Clinic at 1304 Hardy Street from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 26th.  The Clinic is located on the southwest corner of Hardy Street and Hutchinson Ave.  For questions about the event or for more information, contact Southern Pines Spay & Neuter Clinic at (601) 544-5678.
