USM School of Social Work receives $1.2 million health insurance grant

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The University of Southern Mississippi has received $1.2 million in federal money to help enroll more people in the Affordable Care Act.

USM's School of Social Work is getting the money from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.

It will support outreach efforts to help people understand coverage options and financial help they can get.

The project is meant for folks in the state's three southernmost healthcare districts and it replicates the city of Hattiesburg's Educate, Enroll, Empower (E3) Health Initiative, with the addition of Marketplace enrollment.
