HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Update: Police have now reduced the charges against a Hattiesburg man jailed for felony child neglect.
Investigators say the felony charge against Quayshawn Durr, 22, was reduced to misdemeanor as the investigation continues.
The child was not harmed in the incident, and that's why the charge was downgraded.
A Hattiesburg man is behind bars and facing felony charges after police said they found his child wandering around alone.
Quayshawn Durr, 22, was arrested at his home after police said they located an infant wandering around unattended around 3:30 p.m. Sunday near the Pearl Street and 34th Avenue intersection.
Durr was charged with one count of felony child neglect, and is currently housed at the Forrest County Jail.
The child was not harmed during the incident, and the investigation is still ongoing.
