HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Enrollment numbers for the 2015-2016 school year have been released for area colleges and universities.
The Institutions of Higher Learning reported a 1.4 percent decrease in total enrollment at The University of Southern Mississippi. Compared to 2014 numbers, USM lost 213 students this year, and the university started the fall semester with a total of 14,579 students.
William Carey University experienced a 4.5 percent increase in total enrollment for 2015, totaling 4,330 students.
WCU Media Relations Director Joshua Wilson said the university's Tradition campus in Biloxi had a record enrollment of 1,154, which is a 22 percent increase from 2014.
Jones County Junior College increased by 4.6 percent this year, with a total of 4.805 students.
Pearl River Community College is down by about 100 students this fall, according to PRCC communications director Chuck Abadie. He said their most recent count was 4,657.
