Indie-pop band Echosmith to headline Eaglepalooza

Indie-pop band Echosmith will be in the Hub City for Eaglepalooza. Indie-pop band Echosmith will be in the Hub City for Eaglepalooza.
HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

California-based indie-pop band Echosmith will be the featured performer at Eaglepalooza in Hattiesburg on Nov. 21.

Event organizers announced the headline act during noon Wednesday at the Thad Cochran Center.

The band, whose members are all siblings, is from the town of Chino and they have had a top-20 hit with the song, "Cool Kids."

"We feel like this is going to bring a brand new element to the event and we just hope that the community and also the students at USM are just as excited as we are," said Miranda Mixon, director of Eaglepalooza.    

Organizers also said some local artists will be recruited to open for the band, which will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. in downtown Hattiesburg.
