Ellisville residents concerned about new construction

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) - The construction of a road in Ellisville has some residents at odds with the city.
The city is adding an extension to Howell Street, which will also serve as access to the new Shirley's being built in the area.

Some residents are concerned about the safety of a bridge being used by heavy trucks as well as the serenity of the neighborhood.

One resident has even started getting a petition signed to halt the road's construction.

Ellisville Mayor Tim Waldrup, said engineers have inspected the bridge and deemed it safe and that construction of the road should be completed in a few months.
