When your team is trying to break a 13 game losing streak, it needs a big performance out of its best players. That is exactly what the Sumrall Bobcats got out of their junior quarterback Rhett Harvey Friday night against West Lincoln.
Harvey threw for 296 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 38 yards and another score. Sumrall head coach Shannon White says he has seen his quarterback get better and better over the last few months. "It's rewarding. A quarterback's always a big part of any team. He's worked really hard all summer you know he's on his third start and he's going to get better and better. He's shown improvement every week."
After such a big performance to give the Bobcats their first win in over a year, Harvey said he could not have done it without his teammates. "It means a lot. My receivers can catch well, and the line did a phenomenal job. I didn't get sacked all night long, and I think the line did an excellent job."
Next up for Harvey and the Bobcats is a trip to Choctaw Central on Friday.
