HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - On Labor Day, a winner was picked for a handgun raffle to benefit the family of fallen HPD officer Benjaman Deen.

Pine Belt resident Buddy Johnson was the winner of the Glock 22, 40 caliber hand gun and other accessories.

Family friends of Deen helped sell tickets at several locations in the surrounding area and proceeds went to Deen's wife and family.

"I think it's amazing to be able to help someone.I'm feeling blessed so much and to be able to help someone else is, is to me, what I'm supposed to do," said Betty Bagget, fundraising coordinator.
