HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - On Saturday morning, a group of volunteers from USM will participate in a community service project as part of the 50th anniversary of desegregation.
"We are excited with everything going on," SGA President Jeffrey George said. "Tomorrow morning we've got about 50 students that are going to be going downtown to Oseola McCarty Youth Development Center. We're just going to be doing some work around their facilities and help them get cleaned up and prepared for next week."
Another big service project will take place in the community Friday, Sept. 11. More details to come soon.
