WAYNE COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Two men have been arrested in connection to a murder in April 2014, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
Authorities have charged Bobby Hogan and Direco McDougle for the murder of Cureon Pope that happened on April 13, 2014.
"I am thankful that we were able to solve this case," Sheriff Darryl Woodson said. "It is a sad day for all families involved. We are still working on other cases and hope to have them solved by January."
The sheriff's department, along with MBI Investigator Leo Clemons, worked diligently to solve this crime.
Justice Court Judge Charles Chapman set both Hogan and McDougle's bonds at $1.3 million each. Both are charged with murder, aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied motor vehicle.
