Hotels, restaurants prepare for packed Hub City on game weekend

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Several hotels in Hattiesburg are sold out ahead of the Southern Miss-Mississippi State game this weekend.

The Hilton Garden Inn, Baymont Inn and Suites and Comfort Suites near Interstate 59 said they had been sold out for several weeks.

Restaurants and bars are also geared up for the game weekend.

Patio 44's Executive Chef Josh Rogers said they have a lot of reservations already made for Saturday evening.

"I think that we'll see a big crowd, but I think it will be closer to game time," Rogers said.

Brewsky's, which is also run by Rogers and team, will have the only video wall in the entire state Saturday, according to Rogers.

"We're going to open up at 3:00 over there and have a tailgate party with chicken wing and beer specials and stuff like that," he said.

Kickoff is at 9 p.m. Saturday.
