HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A dedication ceremony was held earlier today at William Carey University in honor of the police officers that were killed in the line of duty on May the 9th.
[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]Two park benches with the engraved names of Hattiesburg police officers Liquori Tate and Benjamin Tate were dedicated before a crowd of over 50 people.
"The family, they're great and so grateful and I know that their loss was more than we can even understand but we're all together as one and we will see them again one day," said Joan Warren, WCU trustee.
The benches are located in the Warren Prayer Garden on campus.
Both officers' families attended the dedication, which was made possible through a donation by Joan Warren.
