HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - More than 200 people and lots of their four-legged friends ran through The Avenues section of Hattiesburg Saturday morning to raise money for an organization that provides service dogs to people in need.
They participated in the inaugural Dog Days 5K run and two mile walk. It was a fundraiser for Hub City Service Dogs.
Organizers hoped to raise $10,000, which will be used to train and provide service dogs for people with various types of physical disabilities or medical conditions.
The event began and ended at Kamper Park.
