HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Family members of two Hattiesburg police officers who were killed in the line of duty more than three months ago will receive funds from a special account set up for them next Monday.

The families of officers Benjamin Deen and Liquori Tate will each receive about $40,000.

The money will be presented at City Hall on Monday, Aug. 31 at 2 p.m.

The funds were collected in an account set up at The First, a National Banking Association.

It was established to help the families after the two officers were shot to death during a routine traffic stop near downtown Hattiesburg on May 9.

You still have time to donate to the account. It will remain open until noon on Friday.
