Hattiesburg prepares for a national day of service

This is a news release from the Greater PineBelt Community Foundation
A collaboration between the City of Hattiesburg, the
Center for Community and Civic Engagement at the University of Southern Mississippi,
Volunteer Hattiesburg, and The Greater PineBelt Community Foundation.
September 11, 2015, as part of the National Day of Service, the city of Hattiesburg, non-profits,
schools, organizations, and churches, will participate in #WeAreHattie, a city-wide day of
community service and outreach. Hattiesburg residents, schools, churches, and community
groups are encouraged to 1) sign up to create a volunteer opportunity, or 2) sign up to
volunteer for numerous opportunities. #WeAreHattie will take place on the National Day of

Hattiesburg is a community that comes together. Whether united against the forces of nature
or showing solidarity in the face of great loss, we have shown time and again that we can put
aside our differences to work towards the same goal. #WeAreHattie is a day for everyone to
come together and volunteer to help enhance the quality of life in Hattiesburg.
