JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

This is a news release from the Jones County Sheriff's Department

On Monday, Jones County Sheriff’s Deputies made contact with a teenage male at a county high school.

The juvenile had been reported as a missing person.

When deputies questioned the young male, he stated he did not want to return home because his mother kept narcotics at the residence.

Methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia were recovered in her bedroom.

Stevison-Butts also had a disabled teenage child at the residence.

Department of Human Services was called and both children were removed from the home.

Stevison-Butts was taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine and child endangerment.

Her initial appearance will be at 3:00pm, Tuesday, August 18, 2015, before Judge David Lyons at Jones County Justice Court.
