HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Hattiesburg fire investigators are searching for suspects involved in an arson fire in the Hattiesburg-Forrest County Industrial Park.

“It was an attempt, the person or persons took an ignitable item and put it through a hole in the wall and held it against a stack of cardboard boxes,” said Hattiesburg Fire Investigator Stephen Mooney.

The damage was done in the warehouse-shipping area at Loresco International Inc., at 421 J.M. Tatum Drive on Friday.

“We were able to get some evidence from the initial item that was used as the makeshift match, and that has been sent to the crime lab as a part of the investigation,” said Mooney.

Members of the State Fire Marshall's office will also meet later this week with Hattiesburg Fire Investigators to help with the case.

“The damage that was done was very little, however it is something that we take seriously,” said Mooney.

If you have any information about the incident, contact the Hattiesburg Fire Department at 601-545-6678 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 601-582-STOP.
