LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - On Thursday the Laurel Police Department arrested Jerome Wyatt Jr for felony fleeing law enforcement, possession of cocaine and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.
This stemmed from a traffic stop at 6:20 pm in south Laurel.
While conducting the traffic stop, Wyatt fled from police which ensued a pursuit.
The pursuit took officials through a highly populated neighborhood. Police said Wyatt was throwing narcotics out of the passenger side window of his vehicle.
Once Wyatt finally came to a stop, officers took custody of him and recovered a quantity of cocaine.
The narcotics thrown from Wyatt's vehicle were also recovered. The narcotics thrown were approximately 2 grams of heroin.
Wyatt's bond will be set on Monday in Laurel Municipal Court by Judge Kyle Robertson.
