JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Jones County Sheriff’s Investigators were tipped off about a supposed “snitch list” that was created with the intentions of being shared on social media through private groups.

The list contained information of so-called “snitches” providing information about criminal activity and those involved, according to a news release from the Jones County Sheriff's Department.

Investigators were able to confiscate the list and was made aware its author was Christopher Joe “Jo Jo” Dennis, 34 of Silver Creek.

Dennis is currently in custody at the Jones County Adult Detention Center on charges of burglary of a dwelling, aggravated assault and felony fleeing.

Dennis had designed the list to be a tool for intimidating witnesses.

He was discovered to be attempting to get false affidavits to create an alibi for his own case, according to the release.

As the investigation continued, it was uncovered that Memrie Lynn Nix, 25 of Soso, was retrieving the information from Dennis and planning to share it on social media.

Nix was taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are possible.

Both have been charged with intimidating a witness and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Nix and Dennis’s bonds were set for $10,000 each, $5,000 for each charge.
