Two officers sworn in to Laurel Police

The Laurel Police Department celebrated the swearing in of two new officers, Christian Benson and Carl Pyles, on Tuesday held in the City Council Chambers in Laurel. The Laurel Police Department celebrated the swearing in of two new officers, Christian Benson and Carl Pyles, on Tuesday held in the City Council Chambers in Laurel.
LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

The Laurel Police Department celebrated the swearing in of two new officers, Christian Benson and Carl Pyles, on Tuesday held in the City Council Chambers in Laurel.

Officer Christian Benson comes to LPD and is married with two children. He previously worked at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility located in Rankin County. He graduated the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy to earn his full-time officer certification.

Officer Carl Pyles is married with two children and comes to LPD after working as a corrections officer for the Jones County Sheriff’s Department for four years with two of those as sergeant. Officer Pyles will attend the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy in September.
