Eternity Action Alliance and WHJA donate backpacks, school supplies to children in need

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

Friday in Laurel, members of a local non-profit called Eternity Action Alliance and Gospel radio station WHJA teamed up for their Inaugural Backpack giveaway.

The goal of the project is to give out over 200 backpacks filled with school supplies to  children who need them the most.

“We are here to provide reliable assistance and help those in deprived areas to have access to goods and services,” said Jeanella Rahming, director of the Eternity Action Alliance.

Some of the things that will be available are backpacks, supplies, free haircut vouchers to participating barber shops, $5 hair vouchers for the ladies, mentoring program registration, after care sign registration, uniform exchange, little league football registration for The City of Hattiesburg, and health centers discussing vaccinations and immunization requirements.

The group is in Laurel on Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. handing out supplies.

The group will be at the Ben McNair center on Saturday in Hattiesburg from 10 a.m until 4 p.m.
