HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

On Monday around 10 a.m., a dump truck was leaving a site when the driver forgot to let down the bed of his truck. The bed caught a cable and took out a power pole at the entrance to the Bellewood subdivision in Oak Grove.

This area of Old Hwy. 11 will be affected for several hours. Crews are trying to remove the truck, which is blocking half of the road.

No detours are in place, and officials are asking motorists to avoid the area until the scene is cleared.

The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries, and turned down medical attention at the scene.

Power to the subdivision has not been affected, but phone and cable could be affected.
