HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

Forrest County, along with Pine Belt 360, came together to help clean the Earl Travillion Attendance Center Saturday. More than 100 people volunteered their time to clean and paint the school before registration begins July 27.

New Principal Kristina Pollard was happy to see the support from the community.

"(I am) extremely overwhelmed by the support, the donations and the people who volunteered their time this Saturday morning," Principal Kristina Pollard said.

She also thanked Van Jones and Pine Belt 360 .

“Through Pine Belt 360 and his executive board, (Van) really was instrumental in bringing in organizations that have never worked with Earl Travillion Attendance Center before, but he also helped to reestablish some very important relationships and partnerships with organizations that worked here in the past," Pollard said.

The new school year begins August 6, 2015.
