HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The leadership Pine Belt class of 2015 spoke to a group of kids at the Boys and Girls Club America about the dangers of drug use.
The community service project of the SPLASH team was to reach out to middle school age kids showing them the dangers of trying drugs.
"We wanted the kids to see that drugs are disguised in the form of fun but in the end it's really dangerous," Said Tony Reimonenq, member of the SPLASH team. "We wanted them to see that despite the music and the media and the things that they use to make drugs and bad activities seem good, that in the end it is harmful."
The sessions were designed to help young people make better decisions.
