Bond set for Marion County shooting suspect

MARION COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

Bond has been set for a suspect allegedly involved in a  double shooting in Marion County.

Alton Middleton Jr. was arrested just after 2:00 a.m. Friday in Jefferson Davis County. 

His bond was set at $100,000 for two counts of aggravated assault. 

The scene:

Just after 4 p.m. Wednesday, Marion County authorities responded to the 400 block of River Road to a report of a shooting. 

When police arrived, they found one victim in the yard suffering from a gun shot wound, and he was transported to Forrest General Hospital. 

While officers were en-route they learned of another victim who had been shot and was on his way to Marion General Hospital in a personal vehicle.

One victim is in serious but stable condition, while the other is in stable condition. 

No weapon was found at the scene.
