LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A Lamar County man is behind bars and facing a $5,000 bond in connection to a home invasion.
Bryan Rawls, 29, was arrested late Monday night by Lamar County deputies after fleeing from the scene of a home invasion on Old Highway 11.
"Rawls knocked on the door of a residence, the person inside knew him, he just walked right in and stole prescription medications and ran," said Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel.
Rigel said children were home with a babysitter at the time of the incident, however no one was harmed.
"This was not just a random crime, the homeowners and people inside the home knew Rawls, he was a former employee of the business they own," said Rigel. "So it was literally him knocking on the door, them opening the door and him walking in."
Rawls was taken into custody at a residence on Rocky Branch Road in Lamar County.
Rawls made his initial appearance where his bond was set at $5,000.
