Authorities are searching for a pair of suspects involved in a weekend burglary at a Columbia pharmacy.

“Police received a call of an alarm at Shepard’s Discount Drug, on Broad Street in Columbia around 5 a.m. Saturday,” said Columbia Police Department Investigator Bobby Patterson.

Patterson said officers arrived on scene within minutes, and found the front glass door broken out from what appeared to be a stone.

“Officers cleared the building, and after speaking with the owner, it was determined that several hundred pills, of various narcotic types were stolen,” said Patterson.

Columbia Police have reached out to the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics to help with the investigation, as well as help get a total of the actual number of pills that were stolen during the incident.

“We have two suspects on video, however they were pretty covered up, you can’t really tell if they were black or white, but it does appear to be two males,” said Patterson.

Patterson said that other suspects could be involved, but right now the investigation is still ongoing.

If you have any information regarding the burglary, contact Columbia Police at 601-736-8204.
