HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The rain didn't stop Pine Belt residents from celebrating their independence.
Hundreds gathered at Paul B. Johnson State Park and Little Black Creek Campground to take in the festivities. Events started early in the afternoon and lasted throughout the night. Heavy rain came through the area, but managers were confident that the parties would go on.
