LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - Several areas in Laurel were without power Monday afternoon.
According to Mississippi Power, the company had a loading issue at one of their substations which caused a transmission issue.
Spokesperson for Mississippi Power Bill Snyder, said a total of 6,429 customers were without power for less than an hour. Snyder said 5,241 customers were without power for 35 minutes and 1,188 customers were without power for 45 minutes.
Snyder said all power in the City of Laurel was quickly and safely restored at approximately 1:50 p.m.
