LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - A Laurel man is behind bars for multiple charges when was pulled over at a traffic stop Sunday morning.
Sam Jackson, 53, was stopped by Laurel police around 4 a.m. Sunday for speeding. Police officers stopped him at a traffic stop at the intersection of 8th Street and North Joe Wheeler.
Laurel Police Department officials said upon further investigation, Jackson also had a hand gun on him. He was charged with speeding, improper equipment, DUI and ex-con in possession of a firearm.
Jackson had his initial appearance in Laurel Municipal Court Monday, where his bond was set at $10,000, according to officials.
